about
This is the website of Keith Manning. I was born in 1948, I studied architecture after school for 2 years, then traveled the world from 1968 to 1973 when I took my first tabla lessons in Varanasi. From 1975-1991 I took talim in tabla from Pandit Nikhil Ghosh in Mumbai, concurrently playing/recording with several fusion music ensembles and accompanying Indian classical musicians - into the 21st century. I am best known as a tabla player, less known as an artist, and unknown as a writer and poet except among my friends. I trust you will get some pleasure sifting through my body of aural and visual work, not to mention my stylistic creative writing! Welcome to my world!
